3 Piece Forged Steel Ball Valve is an extremely heavy-duty valve system that mainly regulates the flow of liquids and gases within a pipe. It has three major components: two end pieces, a middle ball, and a stem. Its body, made of forged steel, boasts of unbelievable structural strength and endurance even under extreme pressure and temperature conditions.
Major Components
- Body: The body of the valve is forged to ensure maximum strength and resistance to mechanical loads.
- Ball: An empty sphere, spherical in nature, through which the hole is drilled into it, regulating the flow if rotated.
- Stem: Through which the actuator is connected to the ball in order to turn it.
- End Caps: These can be easily removed for repair and maintenance and in which the working mechanism of the ball and stem resides.
Working Mechanism
The valve functions by turning the ball within the body. As the ball is turned 90 degrees, the hole is positioned along the flow path, and fluid can pass through. As the ball is turned to the closed position, the hole cuts off the flow, closing the passage. This simple yet effective system provide precise control of fluid flow.
